Lagoon Hull will help us to create a unique, progressive and sustainable place that has found a way to live in harmony with its surroundings.
A place that supports the transformation towards a low-carbon energy estuary by cutting commuting times, creating opportunities for low carbon public transport and improving efficiency.
We will develop a city-region admired for its maritime culture, green spaces, traffic management, wildlife habitats and breathtaking expanses; a place that is protected from the elements and harnesses this power for the greater good.
The development will be one of the most ambitious environmental projects of recent years and will require the skills and knowledge of leading environmentalists to ensure the project maximises the potential for the estuary. By harnessing this knowledge, the Humber can become a pioneer in environmental estuary management and climate change adaptation and a leading international centre for academic study and research in this area.
There will be opportunities to create new habitats along the lagoon which will be designed through conservation projects for the needs of the estuary’s flora and fauna.
