The Hull Seven Seas Fish Trail is a fantastic, free activity for everyone to enjoy

Hull’s iconic fish trail is a staple of the city’s tourist trail. For many, it’s the perfect family activity for a cold winter’s day. Green Tip of the Month

The clamp down on single-use plastics has hit the headlines in recent years with non-recyclable straws taking up many a column inch in the drive to get Britain recycling.
Many fast-food chains have made paper straws their solution but their readiness to disintegrate means they’re not for everyone. Reusable products like those produced by The Silicone Straw Company are one solution to curbing environmental impact but maintaining enjoyment of the product.

Transport Changes

One of west Hull’s busiest roads is closed overnight for a week.

Rawling Way is expected to be shut between 7.30pm and 6.30am from Monday, January 10 until Friday, January 14 to allow resurfacing work to take place.

The overnight closure is to ensure there is less strain on surrounding routes such as Hessle Road and Anlaby Road.

"Did you know?"

As a city that once revolved around the fishing industry, Hull has had 12 different docks that have served our seafarers down the years.

Hull’s first dock – which later became known as Queen’s Dock - opened in 1778 and served the industry for 150 years before being closed in 1930. The dock was filled in and turned into the modern-day Queen’s Gardens.
