Green Tip of the Month

Water heating consumes about 90% of the energy it takes to operate a washing machine, according to industry experts. Even switching from a hot to a warm setting can cut energy use in half.

In most cases, anything other than a cold wash is completely unnecessary – unless you’re tackling tough-to-remove, oily stains.

Why not use Hull company Bio-D to make your wash even greener...now B Corp certified!

Transport Changes

Part of Lowgate in Hull’s Old Town is to remain closed until mid-April. Drivers will still be unable to turn left from Castle Street until April 16 as part of the ongoing footway repair scheme.

The project was subjected to delays due to traffic light signal failure.

"Did you know?"

Did you know? More than 10,000,000 vehicles cross the Humber Bridge each and every year, as they make the trip between Hessle and Barton-upon-Humber.

That's nearly 30,000 every single day using the Grade I listed structure that was opened in 1981.

Since it opened, visitors from across the country, and occasionally the world, have been drawn to Hull to visit the MKM Stadium to watch either Hull City or Hull FC.

The Tigers hosted the first game there in December 2002 but which club provided the opposition?
